Dog may sound like fun But is a lot of work. A dog can kill a person and has done so. A few years back A New Jersey Shelter adopted out an agressive deoberman pincher That turned on its new owner and killed an adult. It was an aweful tragedy. Since then Shelters have changed they way adopt out.

Remember when the Burm Killed the small child in Florida last year.

Both are sad stories. But is was the one about the snake that made it to the media. Why? Ask the media they control our news.

I believe that people need to research any animal before they buy it. I see irresponsible pet owners everyday at work. But it is them that ruin it for the resonsible owners.

I don't think either are a bigger threat. I think with out proper research and people stupidy and irresponsiblty they are both a threat.

Hmm.... interesting topic. I personally am a big snake lover, they are truely misundaerstood creatures. With the proper care, under an experienced keeper they can be fantastic pets. Dogs have been domesticated for hundreds of years, a lot longer than snakes, yet they have caused more injuries (especially over the last 20 or so years) than big snakes. I can't say which is more of a threat, because any animal is a threat to someone.... even something like a hamster... HAVE YOU EVER BEEN BITTEN BY ONE??? haha. That's my 2 cents on the topic! :)

Dogs all the way. The number of dog related attacks in the US a year are insane. The number of ALL exotic pets together, not just reptiles or big snakes. Do not equal half the attacks, incidents with dogs a year. I have never been much of a dog person personally. I guess do to the fact that I have seen first hand how dangerous "mans best friends" can be. I am not saying they are mean or evil creatures by any means. I am just saying think people have the whole image of dogs as "Mans best friend" stuck in there head and they can do no wrong. Snakes and other animals on the other hand have been feared and hated so if anything happens with them regardless if its the person/owners fault which is generally the case. They are automatically "mean and evil" creatures out to get us. I avoid big dogs after stuff have seen as do not trust them. I would take a large constrictor or other reptile anyday over a dog. Atleast I know how to work with that and respect it.
