NEKTON! This stuff is a bit pricey if I remember right but excellent. Made for Birds, Reptiles and Sugar Gliders!

I feed the BP's live or prekilled for the most part hey seem to have a better feed response and don't go off feed as much for me on live. when I was feeding them F/T they would go off feed during the winter for longer periods of time or waste food sometimes. I find with feeding the balls live they eat better and grow better prob grow better just because they are more consistent feeders on live. I do keep rat pups and mice in the freezer for baby's, so I don't kill all my rodent supply on babys. If something eats a prey idem bigger than a small rat they will only get F/T or preekilled. Everything else other than bps gets Prekilled or F/T. But everything else I have that feeds on F/T other than balls just as well as live for the most part. The best part of breeding your own rodents is you don't always have to dig threw the freezer for the right size prey. That also keeps most of the animals feeding consistent . Especially the balls give them too big a meal and they might not eat for a few weeks. I also feed everything in cage. Taking them out could just cause unnecessary stress. Anyone who moved a bp to a new enclosure because they got a new rack or bumped them up to a larger tub will tell you it can cause a great feeder to miss a few meals. This is a big part in why I don't move them to feed them. They like to feel secure. Even though lots of snakes will eat out of the cage I don't think its a good idea. The feeding in the cage goes for all my snakes. It also makes feeding time faster if your not taking every animal out to feed it. The bigger your collection gets the little things adds up and something as simple as feeding day could turn into a project if your doing something like taking them all out to feed.

Do you think I should try f/t mealworms for my geckos? How about crickets? I have actually been feeding outside the enclosure lately because my geckos are taking awhile to come out of winter mode. Last night I was holding my big tremper male, Eragon, and trying to stuff some mealworms down his throat (live, not f/t) and now I have a nice bandage on my thumb (no, the mealworm didn't bite me).
