Whether or not you're tired of the great debate about keeping leopard geckos on sand, this week's Gecko Time article has a balanced viewpoint about the issue with some good suggestions: http://www.geckotime.com/housing-leopar ... s-on-sand/

Aliza- I love this article.. Excellent!!
I personally am one that believes keeping Geckos on sand is NOT ok but..
I do believe that impaction is Secondary to infection, dehydration, sickness and Gravidity in some cases!
I used Sand, Play sand many years ago before all the "commercial" products and never had a problem unless one of the above was involved.
I've never had a healthy gecko on sand become impacted. Unfortunatley because they cant speak it is not always obvious when they are sick untill it is to late or farther along.
For this purpose I never use sand any more, Especially as I got into higher end geckos why take a chance.
